Look Up Raises €50M to Boost Space Object Tracking Capabilities
French space situational awareness (SSA) startup Look Up has raised nearly €50 million to accelerate the development of its radar-based space object tracking network. The funding will allow the company to scale its operations, expand internationally, and enhance space safety services for both government and commercial clients.
The funding round, announced on June 11, 2025, includes equity from ETF Partners and the EU’s EIC Fund, a €15 million EU grant, and additional debt financing. Founded in 2022 by former French military and CNES officials, Look Up already operates a radar in mainland France and will deploy two more in French Polynesia with this funding.
CEO Michel Friedling, the former head of French Space Command, emphasized that the new capital will help deliver “intelligent and automated space C2” capabilities. His co-founder, Juan Carlos Dolado, a former CNES surveillance lead, added that their integrated vision meets the growing demand for coordinated space traffic management.
Look Up’s radar network will support the ATLAS2 program, an EU-backed initiative focused on automated space safety in low Earth orbit (LEO). The company plans to expand its team from 60 to 100 by year’s end and drive global growth in the space surveillance sector.
